WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
On behalf of the 2015-2016 VMA Board and our membership, I’d like to welcome you to our site. In partnership with our Marketing faculty and Career Management Center, we provide our membership with recruiting assistance, education, networking opportunities, and fellowship. We look forward to the coming school year and all of the exciting programming we have planned!
President Sarah Woodnorth, Class of 2016
The mission of the Vanderbilt Marketing Association (VMA) is to further develop the marketing skills of all our members by extending learning outside the classroom. Through collaboration with faculty, alumni and marketing peers, we strive to build the tools that are vital to securing a top-notch job or internship.
Our programming includes career development sessions such as a Marketing Careers Symposium, National Career Fair prep sessions and a variety of speakers and company events. Additionally, the VMA’s signature school-wide event is Marketing Madness, a product positioning and branding competition at Owen, taking place each fall.
VMA members and alumni are active in marketing careers in Consumer Packaged Goods, Healthcare, Technology and many more industries.
The 2015-2016 Club Vision
Career Development: To provide the Owen community with a clear picture of what a marketing career is, how to attain one, and how to achieve career growth.
Membership: Our goal is to help our members secure top jobs through outstanding career programming. We also want to ensure they have fun doing it through social events and networking sessions.
Alumni: For the next school year, we will continue to bring our outstanding marketing alumni to campus, as well as visit them in their workplaces to see marketers in action. In particular, we plan to build upon alumni relationships by undertaking several marketing treks to top firms.
Community: To build relationships within Nashville and the surrounding area in order to build company interactions and provide VMA Members with opportunities for real-world marketing training.
Take the Leap: Our board will continue to accomplish the expansive goals set by our predecessors. It is our goal to leave a lasting legacy for VMA beyond our time here at Owen.
