Career Development

Career Development for the VMA strives to, first and foremost, prepare its members to excel in their job search.  The programming combines fundamental marketing learnings along with pragmatic job search tactics to best prepare for networking and interviews.

The Vanderbilt Marketing Association hosts a variety of events throughout the school year to enhance the career development of its members.  In the fall, the organization plans programming to prepare students for national career fairs (NBMBAA Conference, NSHMBA Conference, etc.), hosts a marketing symposium to enhance the understanding of marketing careers, lunch and learns (current students, industry practitioners, and CMC representatives), among other focused career development events.

In the spring, the club hosts a Super Bowl ad viewing party where students and professors discuss the effectiveness of the newest crop of the worlds most valuable ad time.  The club also hosts a pre-summer internship and job launch event to help prepare students heading off in May with practical sessions in internship presentations, supply chain for marketers, and profit and loss for marketers.
