VMA hosts a series of professional development events throughout the year, including an Interview and Career Fair Boot Camp, Owen Brand Week, the Marketing Career Symposium, the internship launch event and a series of company treks, lunch and learns, and workshops.
In addition, we host a series of networking events to build relationships between members. These “fun” events include Marketing Madness, a Super Bowl ads party, the marketing faculty happy hour and a series of lunches and coffees.
See below for a partial listing of our key events.
Interview/Career Fair BootCamp: A series of workshops designed to explore the various marketing career paths and prepare students for on campus interviewing and the various national career fairs. The VMA will support the Career Management Center in hosting a Mock Career Fair Event in the fall of 2016, which will provide members with the opportunity to practice their job fair strategies.
Brand Week: A 3-day “marketing immersion” featuring real-world case projects from local companies. Previous participating companies include Mars Petcare, Frothy Monkey, Lizard Thicket, IMG, and BBQ in a Box.
Marketing Symposium: A full day featuring alumni panels, case interviewing tips, and networking.
Marketing Madness: Please see the Marketing Madness sub-page under events for more information and photos from prior years.
Internship Launch Event: A series of workshops led by second years and the Career Management Center designed to prepare students for their summer internships.
Digital Marketing Labs: A new series of events structured to provide students with a strong understanding of digital and social media as corporations look to the next generation of marketers to have the knowledge to help their brands succeed in the digital landscape.
