Competition Logistics

Welcome to Nashville!

The 2018 Competition weekend will be a busy one in Nashville. We ask that you be aware of your surroundings as you enjoy our city, and that you also allow ample time to travel to all destinations.

The Competition will be hosting a mandatory Welcome Reception on Thursday evening, October 25, at Kimpton Aertson Hotel (2021 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203) at 7 p.m. CDT.  Heavy appetizers and drinks will be served. Please ensure that your travel arrangements allow you to be at the venue by 7 p.m. CDT on Thursday evening for the Welcome & Kick-off.

The remainder of the competition will be hosted at the Owen Graduate School of Management (401 21st Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203).

The competition officially ends at 1 p.m. CDT on Saturday, October 27. Do not book a flight that departs before 2:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday.

All teams are responsible for their own travel arrangements.

Nashville International Airport (BNA) is the closest airport. Most major air carriers fly into BNA (AA, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, United).

Ground Transportation:

Transportation to/from the airport: The meter rate for a taxi from the airport to the Vanderbilt area ranges from $20-25. Uber and Lyft are also able to pick up at the airport (follow signs to the “Ride Sharing” Location).

  • Gray Line Airport Express. You can make a reservation online or, after arriving at the airport, book your ride at the Gray Line counter to the left of the exit door in the baggage claim/ground transportation area (you do not have to make a reservation in advance).
  • Most major rental car companies, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, and National, are convenient to the Nashville airport.  Please note: The hotel may have a parking fee.

If you would like to explore Nashville while you are here, please visit Vanderbilt University’s Nashville information website for ideas on what to do. We will also include a guide to Nashville in your welcome packets, and as always, the Owen Leadership team and Ambassadors are happy to give you tips on local hotspots.
