Track the time spent on activities that are important to you.
PRIORITIZING: what’s important to you? Identify the most important people in your life, the things you most enjoy doing, those things that you value and hold importance in your life (work, faith, etc.).
Once you’ve got a list that feels like it represents all the things important to you, put it into a column in a spreadsheet. Now, review your calendar for the last month and track how much of your time was spent on these activities.
- What’s missing?
- What shows up in your calendar a lot but isn’t on that list?
- Are they ‘needs’ if they aren’t ‘wants’? What percentage are ‘shoulds’?
- What does this exercise tell you about what’s important to you and how it gets applied in your life?
